IHG’s Crown Plaza brand has set foot in Qatar with the opening of a new hotel in Doha. The new establishment is located in the heart of the city’s banking district and forms part of the new Business Park area. Trans Orient Establishment, under the leadership of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Abdullah Al Thani, owns the establishment. Featuring 378 rooms, the Crowne Plaza – The Business Park is set to appeal to business as well as leisure travellers.
The hotel was signed in 2008 and construction began in mid-2009. IHG has 390 hotels operating under the Crowne Plaza flag around the world. The brand has 130 hotels in the development pipeline due to open over the next three to five years, seven of which will open in the region.
